Maybe it's only me but i think these shows have some similitaries and both of them make us want to know more about the background of the characters and also the finality of the story

Both shows center around a group of people hiding their identities to execute certain schemes/missions.
Both shows are about a suave guy assembling a team for an elaborate plan.
Both shows have light hearted comedy with hyperbolic situations.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these 2 shows were created by the same studios, so there's that. But the stylistic choices are also very similar, of course this show being more wholesome than the ladder, but Great Pretender does have a good amount of action and grittiness which I fine very entertaining.
