Both movies have elements of art in them: The Sensualist uses traditional Japanese art while 1001 Nights uses drawings. Both are psychological and highly erotic and introduce abstract things in order to uncover additional meanings. Besides, one of the influential methods in both is the harmonic synthesis of art and sound.
Still, 1001 Nights is fully abstract while in The Sensualist story and abstract pieces interchange.
As for me, both are striking. So if you've enjoyed one of them you might probably like the other.
