Hi, I'd like to suggest this anime.
Minato Hinageshi considers his lover Hinako his personal heroine for saving him as a child. She is an excellent surfer, and he tries to learn the sport out of respect and love for her. This leads to tragedy when he catches a wave alone one day during a winter storm because he wanted to surprise Hinako and wow her.
As a result, Hinako is unable to surf and acutely experiences the loss of a loved one.
In SK8, Langa thinks Reki is an amazing skater, especially after seeing his extreme skating in the second episode (in photos and video).
