Part of the villainess genre where the mc ends up being the villainess in the otome game they played. Bakarina leans towards comedy while this is more serious but both are great if you like villainesses.

Both were reincarnated (after dying in the real world) as the villainess of the otome games they used to play. Both MCs regained their memories from the real world, during their childhood which became their motivation to avoid their doom in the game. Despite being villainesses, both MCs became completely different persons as they suddenly turned selfless and sincerely started to care about their people, much to the shock of those who knew them.

Both anime have the same otome villainess isekai setup, but diverge ever so slightly with MCs character, one has a dumb paranoid MC and another dense reckless MC. The settings are also slightly different: both are fantasy European-esqe feudal worlds with magic, but Hamefura has swords while Heretical Last Boss Queen has guns.
