It's honestly a lot like each other in that they save the world idea and girls teaming with one another, almost on this wavelength greater than friendship, and flying around with cool weapons.
With Assault Lily's organisation of things with plot and direction, Magia Record is a bit more lore filled, to some extent, going around the different characters seen.
If you are looking for a good Shaft anime to add to your list, one of which may not exactly be the magnum opus, yet still technically pleasant, these are the two anime to go with.

Both are magical girl anime made by Shaft. They have good animation and art styles, though Magia Record has a better story.
