Both have a similar feel of mystery solving on a traditional japanese setting, and a quirky character as male lead. Both series have beautiful art and animation showing japanese architecture and culture, in different time periods though!
Both anime follows the story of a male character trying to solve mysteries, one through a detective agency, the other via an antique shop expertise. Holmes of Kyoto is more light-hearted but definitely recommend it.
