They have the same feeling like in the VO there is a 'Alone' while in the SW there is a 'Neuroi'. Also loli girls fighting it and flying.

Bright color scheme in a futuristic utopia, until enemies come to invade. Protagonist is a young, eager girl who is always looking to help others, related to a scientist that seeks to better the lives of everyone around him. Drawing style is somewhat similar. Same ol' lolicon elements, too. Both are great.
If you want to return to the Strike Witches world, with a couple of different twists, this is your show.
If you want to see what Vividred was probably inspired by, this is your show.
Both of these have girls fighting enemies to mankind.
The main females in both don't wear pants on a regular basis.
Both have a fairly out-going, kind (I guess) main character.
Both have nice/similar animations.
During episode 1 of Vividred Operation, I had many moments where I though I was watching Strike Witches. They are very similar and I can already see that if you enjoy one, you will enjoy the other.
From the same people, this anime has a heavy influence on to it such as girls fighting mechanical monsters, the military and navy, and tons of fanservice and Yuri into it.
I'm excited for this with the Director from Strike Witches and he's doing the character designs!

In an alternate timeline, humanity has struggle to fight these "Aliens" that is occupying around Earth. Thanks to the advance technology, scientist had created these power suits that will repel the alien invaders. These power suits are highly advance aerial dogfight combatants that will engage and eradicate the aliens, having the advantage for military support. There are funny moments, cute, yuri and fanservice.
The difference is that Vividred take place in a future like setting, using a Vivid Power suit, and fight the aliens called "Alone". Strike Witches take place in history, where they use "Witches" as their suits, fighting "Neuroi".
In many ways, Vividred Operation is the spiritual successor to Strike Witches. Despite the fact that Strike Witches leans more toward moe/military themes and Vividred Operation is more of a sci-fi oriented magical girl series, both share the common themes of love and friendship. Much like Strike Witches, Vividred Operation is a character-oriented series, and shares the same quality of character development as Strike Witches. It should also be noted that both main characters Yoshika Miyafuji and Akane Isshiki are both energetic in personality and strive to do their best despite the harsh circumstances. Searching for cute girls that protect people and world with sophisticated technology and magical power, this both anime is the answer. Both anime will tell you about group of girls fighting against evil creatures, and... with some fanservice event. Friendship and trust are growing for every battle they do. Recommended for people who like action and sci-fi genre with all MC are girls.
