If you are the type of person who loves the Victorian Gothic or Dark British settings then you will enjoy both series. The plot points aren't entirely similar, but the aesthetic certainly is.

Overall plot is not that similar but it features girl characters in some version of Victorian England with a darker plot element.
Shadows House is more slice of life supernatural mystery while Princess Principal is about a group of spies but if you like young female in dark Victorian England setting, check them out.
Protagonists are high school aged females in a Victorian era. Both series feature young characters working in secrecy to overcome the ruling class, no matter the cost (physical, social, emotional). Both thought provoking and mystery driven, with similar period settings.
