they both have strong male leads that move up through competitive sports. The leads also have a (in the case of sk8 the infinity) implied romantic interest. There are a lot of similarities, and I would recommend watching it if you were interested in Yuri on ice.

Sports genre, great chemistry between the main cast duo, and many other likeable characters.
Both have two stong male main characters, one of them being more shy and softspoken and the other more outgoing and energetic. One of the characters helps the other one become better at something they are passionate about, skating in sk8 the infinity ans figure skating in yuri!!! on ice.
We can start by the obvious that both anime are about skating (one is on ice the other is skate boarding) but beside that. These two anime are quite similar in their story line of someone meeting a new person and then teaching them the sports. They also have some lgbtq vibe going on in both
With finding joy in each sport hobby, the two main characters in each show find each other and uplift each other to have fun and succeed. The animation for both shows are amazing, and beautiful, capturing the adrenaline and emotion that gets put into each sport. These shows teach you that you don't have to be alone to enjoy something, you might even enjoy something even more when you do it with someone else!
