I got a similar feeling while watching Koi wa Ameagari no You ni to when I watched Amaama to Inazuma. Both have a sort of student/sensei relationship and end up spending a large amount of time together and the show lets the viewer watch their relationship grow throughout the series. Koi wa Ameagari our main character actually has developed feelings for her manager, whereas in Amaama it's a platonic relationship. Each shows can be both lighthearted but also very serious at times.
