Both have come out at around the same time, and are prequels to two of Osamu Tezuka's most acclaimed works. It's interesting to see Tezuka's classic characters reimagined. The stories aren't exactly alike, but the pacing is quite similar; both are episodic anime, where each episode seems the main characters in some sort of conflict or problem that they must overcome.
