Both animes focus on teenagers perfecting their skills. in Dumbell nan kilo moteru, its the exercising and working out, whereas in Shokugeki no soma, its cookery and cuisine. Both animes go in depth about informing accurately about the theme, in Dumbbell, various parts of the body, muscles, proper forms of exercises and in Food wars, different cuisines of the world. Its about teenagers being guided by the geniuses in their respective fields. Certain types of reaction of the characters are similar in both the animes which led me to draw the comparison in the first place.
