Both Gungrave and Gangsta are action seinen anime themed around mafia and criminal gangs with lots of violence and gore. Both follows two close friends working together in a city that's corrupt and lawless. Both have a very bleak and dystopian feel to them. Even the character design for two main characters of both of these anime remind of each other.

Both are ultraviolent supernatural crimed themed series with lots of action as well as lot of mafia related stuff going on during the story.

Both series have a similar atmosphere and main themes revolving around killings and the lives of people with backgrounds gathered in a part of town. The characters feature similar tropes and the settings are visually similar. Both also feature humans with drug induced supernaturally enhanced capabilities and bear a plot that plays out in a similar manner.

Both series revolve around organizations and killing, the settings are similar in their lawlessness and the theme of having a city/area where mostly people with backgrounds gather along with the similar visual aspects. The character tropes are similar as well.
