Shirobako is about the challenges which people face starting a career you're passionate about, and the ways people deal with them. Hibike! Euphonium is about the same topic – the challenges Kumiko faces in a high school brass band trying to qualify for the national competition. Both anime explore where the character finds their motivation, and the importance of their friendships in overcoming challenges.

Both shows manage to bring to life a very broad cast of characters focusing to achieve a single goal. At the end of both shows we know who everyone is, what is their line of work/instrument and roughly what their personality is like (especially with Shirobako).
Both series are about a group of characters (most of them are girls) pursuing the same goal. Couples of characters in both shows grow from setbacks and find their own reason to keep enthusiastic about the hobby/work, which is inspirational to the person who has low motivation to work in real life.
Beside chasing for dreams, both animes also show how the characters resolve contradictions between each other and make the collective harmonious.

Hibike! Euphonium and Shirobako focus on their MCs journeys of self-discovery and regaining their lost passion. These two uplifting slice of life shows also feature large & well-developed supporting casts, who add laughs, drama and heartfelt moments that highlight how much our main girls have grown by the end of each series.
