Both series are about the inhabitants of a Detective Agency that solve cases they get involved into. Also, both main charaters, Conan in DC and Kat in LMDA, get looked down to and have to prove themselves thought their series, Conan because he's now a kid and Kat because his father, professor Layton, was the one who solved mysteries.
So, if you are looking for a detective anime that won't make you wait until 2099 to see the end of it, I think LMDA is a great option with its light mysteries and interesting characters.
