This is mainly due to similarities in the animation style and how it conveys the characters emotions. They are both very "sketchy" and free-flowing, not scared to go off-model to convey a characters thoughts and feelings. Very well developed characters and detailed worlds. While the narratives are quite different, the do go over similar themes of self-discovery and growth, as well as freedom from an oppressive system.

Both anime are based on manga by the same author, so they have very similar art and story elements. Tekkon Kinkreet is more adventurous and trippy, while Ping Pong is more realistic.

Both utilise unconventional and extremely creative art as mediums to enhance story-telling in the show. Both shows focus on two main characters, whom are great childhood friends and emphasise on their relationship as well as character growth. Both are also by the same mangaka Matsumoto Taiyou and have similar character designs. They have amazing soundtracks and the art is also extremely detailed especially in Tekkon Kinkreet. Overall both shows effectively capture the struggles of the two main characters and the adversities they face in their story.

Both are based on manga by Taiyou Matsumoto. Therefore, they have similar art styles and character designs, as well as story elements. Both anime focus on a duo of main character with contrasting personalities. The plots also contain a lot of metaphors and character development.

Both anime are based on manga written by the same mangaka, and this similarity is noticeable in the unique character design and spectacular, fluid animation. Not only that, both focus on two main characters that are childhood friends that, despite being very different, are deeply important to eachother/balance one another out significantly. Both anime also carry similar messages about hope and friendship. Besides these things, these anime are also dissimilar in many respects: Ping Pong is a sports anime that has incredible depth through its use of character study, and Tekkon Kinkreet focuses on stray children and a power struggle within both their socio-political setting   read more
