Comedy/horror is such a rare combination of genres that somehow mix to make something that stands out above the rest. It's something where I honestly couldn't explain why the two work together so well, they just do, and while I've always had a hatred for Toei, they seem to do this genre mix so perfectly. Gegege no Kitaro (2018) and Jigoku Sensei Nube are two anime that take this genre combo, and make my two favorite comedy/horror anime of all time, with some of the most memorable characters, facing off against all sorts of yokai that westerners like
