I guess this recommendation was never done before because of the differences of the genres. Plots and atmospheres are different but I find the personalities of the main characters(Johan and Tokuchi) similar in so many ways:
Both of them are gifted with a brilliant mind and they are scarily smart, most of the time they remain calm even in the worst situations, they have immense understanding of "human emotions". When I first saw how Tokuchi manipulated the other characters in the show, it reminded me of Johan right away. Find yourself wanting more of Johann Liebert's charisma, intellect, and manipulation tactics, but you're simultaneously needing a break from all the misery, terror, and death that he thrives on? You might find a buddy in One Outs' MC, Toua Tokuchi.
He's apathetic, sly, unreadable, and leaves everyone around him questioning if he's some sort of demon. Unlike Liebert though, he's happy enough sticking to gambling (and eventually baseball) rather than setting out to make the world a badder place. Oh yeah, this show spends most of its time on a baseball field, if that makes or breaks your decision to watch this anime. I ain't
