Also a medieval story with lots of gore, not as good as Berserk, but I think it’s worthy read, also it features some strong female characters.

Of all the anime I have seen, the much closer to Claymore is Berserk. A knight ( mercenary or whatever you which to call him (her)), wielding a big sword, slaying demons and an interesting and mature plot. This is what this both series is all about.
+Demons to fight.
+Tragic deaths during the history.
+Trying to revenge.
+Walking around the world.
both have similar genres and both have awesome story lines and i like berserk especially after seeing the movies and i noticed A lot of change in the animation style of the series berserk in the last two episodes at first i didn't like the animation style but now it improved a lot and i like it more now...
Great swords, medieval theme, great fight scenes.
