Blood+ is a decent, complete anime and perfect for those of you who enjoy modern settings, swords, fantasy and sci-fi intermingling. Lots of family drama, character development and high octane action. Inspired by Blood The Last Vampire - but this is NOT a vampire anime.

Both having there main issue being blood, both shows have girls with swords as the main character. They are very different shows but in terms of gore, suspense, tragedy, and plain old putting people on edge they are very similar.

The answer is not clear cut at all. While there are enormous facts pointing to two different worlds, there are several facts pointing to one single world. However, this could just be a coincidence if it was a joined but separate world, meaning that the two Saya's (Main character in both the series) are different people. It is clearly stated that Saya is not the girl's real name in Blood-C, that it was just a name given to her by her captor.
