If you watched one for the music, you should watch the other. They're both heart warming stories, I'd say sakamichi is heavier on the drama and amount of music played and hibike! is more light hearted. I was equally hooked by both animes though.

Both are about music but at the same time they show a great message of team work and working as a band.
Whether you are a music fan or you just want to see a school drama, you will enjoy both series about music band and high school life. For both series, the art is so terrific that musical instruments seem vivid; the soundtrack are inspiring for audience.
The difference: the main characters of Sakamichi no Apollon play jazz while those of Hibike! Euphonium are members of a brass band; Sakamichi no Apollon focuses on romance and friendship while Hibike! Euphonium has few elements of romance but gives a big service for yuri lovers:)
