How life is beautiful for both the wonders and the hardships. That was one of the special things that Wolf Children transmitted me, and The Wind Rises has exactly the same message.
The plot may differ, since the first is a little more dramatic and its based on something fantastic/supernatural, while the second focus more in the life of a single person and his dreams than the conformation of a family. Even so, the decisions and variety of emotions from the main characters make these two films to have a similar meaning.
