*Both series has a concept of war time
*old history fantasy vs the technology of war today
Entirely different plot but both have the protagonist go through the gate onto fantasy medieval world. and there were modern weapons used in the fantasy world on both series.
Gate is about monsters invading mankind but zero doesn't have that and is summoned into the fantasy world. zero is more of a harem show and doesn't have much involvement with the military except some scenes.
--Both of the male protagonist being transported from Japan to an alternate world. Zero no tsukaima's is focused on Wizardry/School while Gate is more on Military/Tactics.
--Both have strong fantasy feel. Including dragons, elves, maids, monsters and mages.
-- MC's comes from a world filled with advanced technology with an even longer and more brutal history of conflict.
--they both share the want to protect what they hold dear.
-Gate had a lot more darker moments, while ZnT is comedy-oriented.
This anime is has gate that Mc teleport.. And in zero familiar have more romantic sense and comedy.. But in Gate they have more military sense.. But any way zero familiar has military too.. So pls try the zero familiar if you can..
Both anime share the concept of using modern weapons during medieval times.
