Ippon may be a lot older but these anime are extremely similar. Both anime feature a dedicated chef MC and similar cooking "face-off" battles.
ungratefully, Ippon doesn't seem to be completed, yet i still find it extremly well-writing; the storyline of Chuuka Ichiban is greater with in-depth character and world-building, however, Ippon did this style of anime first. If you truly like Chuuka, you will adore Ippon and vice-versa.
