Both anime have a great animation with a promising plot that gets flushed down the drain.
Both series face an extinction caused by a virus, in Kabaneri case virus turns people to zombie. Both series have a bishoujo character gone bad, strong relationship/friendship between two leads. Female being a cause of MCs stronger powers and etc.
Differences, different time era. Kabaneri is more bloody. Guilty Crown develops its plot more.
If you managed to see redeeming qualities in one, you might in another. Otherwise watch it purely for animation and sound. More of a story and character person? Don't bother with either then.
Both series have similar settings and motives to the plots that follow towards the series. As the series is produced along with the same soundtrack composer Hiroyuki Sawano, which explains the god-like music. The OP/ED is done by EGOIST Chelly and AIMER, who Chelly has done the OP/ED of Guilty Crown.
