Deep pasts. Cowboy Bebop and Death Parade have varying plots, however, both feature individuals who have deep backstories to them, whether they be episodic characters or MCs.
Death Parade is about purgatory judgement, Cowboy Bebop is about bounty hunters. Though both have episodic plots, also with deep meaning.
Both are good anime with Cowboy Bebop being a great sci-fi adventure classic, while Death Parade is a psychological anime bringing out the worst in people through games.
