Story [7/10]:
The story has a lot of elements in it but I wish there was more to it. There is obvious horror, some elements of supernatural, slice of life, and a little romance (maybe?). The story however as a whole feels somewhat rushed in my opinion. There is a lot of buildup early on, then the anime gets you to second guess yourself as you try to piece together the supposed curse that is causing people to die. However, I feel that although there is a lot of atmosphere in the beginning in setting up the show it then begins to spill everything out to
...
you in explicit detail and then an abrupt climax of a lot of death and end that seem out of place and rushed. I like how the story was portrayed for what it was however I feel that the anime isn't too memorable and that some things could have been explained in more depth.
Art [9/10]:
Loved the art, I couldn't explain specifically but it is extremely appealing to my eye and it goes perfect with the horror elements of the anime. The gore isn't too overboard although the way people die is sometimes very absurd and impossible in my opinion but it is still enjoyable.
Sound [7/10]:
I am not one to really pay attention to the sound unless it really sticks out to me (a good opening, spooky sfx to set atmosphere). The opening isn't bad but there were a few times when I would skip it because it wasn't the greatest piece either. The atmosphere sounds do there job but aren't anything special.
Character [8/10]:
Characters in this anime aren't anything special however Misaki Mei is a really oddball character throughout the whole anime. She is lacking in emotion and most of the time you think she is probably the cause of everything so she just has most of the audience's attention most of the time. Other characters are bland to me and I can't even recall their names (most will die anyway) but the characters were all better than average.
Enjoyment [8/10]:
Would I recommend this anime? Yes. Would I re-watch this anime? Probably not if I am being entirely honest. It is not that the anime is bad, I thought it was actually extremely enjoyable, but I think the enjoyment comes from the mystery of it. Once that mystery is solved there is no reason to rewatch, the anime is so focused on the curse and nothing else that everything is spoiled by the end. Watching it a second time would be the same as watching it the first time except you know who dies, when, how, and you know who's to blame for the whole supernatural curse.

Story [7/10]:
Nothing about the story entirely is too special, as far as this anime goes it is your average slice-of-life but anime like this is my absolute favorite kind. I enjoy story in anime but sometimes I also like to relax and just watch something funny, cute, and laid back, this anime is exactly that with not much more to offer and not much less either. A little romance, some laughs, and a good time, stay for the tiny after the credits scenes by the way.
Art [8/10]:
The art style isn't too different from your typical anime style, however the colors are very vibrant and I
...
like the transition slides, this a very common thing to do in slice-of-life anime but since that is my favorite genre it is more of a plus than a negative in my eyes.
Sound [9/10]:
Establishes good atmosphere and I never skipped the opening, I think the opening is actually what even got me into the anime because it was a meme for awhile and without that being a thing I probably would have never found the anime.
Character [9/10]:
The characters make this anime so pure and innocent (except for Miu...) and I feel that it is one of the stronger parts of this anime. The love interest between Dino and Maika as well as the one between Kaho and Akizuki really left me wanting more and I hope that these characters will be able to continue their story in a 2nd season.
Enjoyment [10/10]:
I truly enjoyed every bit of this anime. Other anime that I have watched recently has been on the more serious side but this was a good break from all the seriousness and really got me to laugh and re-watch a few parts every now and then because it was funny. I recommend that you give this anime a try if you are into slice-of-life and comedic and cute style anime. It may not be for you if you are into more action packed story driven anime but if you are here for a casual time, sit down and eat a slice of pizza type stuff, then I highly recommend you give this anime a watch.

Story [9/10]:
I love this aspect of the anime with a passion. The story in this anime is slow at times but it so intellectually well-crafted, every little detail in the anime is left there for a reason and by the end of the series everything wraps up extremely nicely like birthday present. The conflict between Light Yagami and L is one that is unforgettable in my mind. The only thing that truly bothered me is the abrupt and anti-climatic end, however the ride is so enjoyable that it is definitely worth your time.
Art [7/10]:
The art doesn't particularly stand out to me too much in this
...
anime however I do enjoy it. I find it hard to like an anime if the art style is displeasing to look at and I would say Death Note is neither stunning or putrid, it is a nice middle-ground that I find to be not too unique but not too standard to your typical anime either. Plus Ryuk looks really cool so.
Sound [9/10]:
Atmosphere was invented in this anime. The sounds before every kill, the way each character has their own tiny theme song, the way the music fights itself in the same cat and mouse fashion that Light and L do, it all comes together extremely nicely and it tickles my ear drums every time I hear a familiar beat.
Character [10/10]:
Let's be honest here, the characters are what make this a great anime. This anime is a battle of wits in its more generalized form, the wit of high school student Light Yagami on his journey to cleanse the world and super famous but anonymous detective L. As mentioned in the story section, every little detail in this anime wraps up so perfectly and neatly and it is because of the characters that this story works so amazingly well. Plus all the Shinigami throughout the anime strike a perfect blend of creepiness as well as coolness, extremely impressive work.
Enjoyment [9/10]:
This anime has been out for a long time now as I write this review and I think it is still an amazing anime that has lived through the test of time. It may be way too popular for its own good but it is an anime that I began many years ago and came back to finish because of how memorable and amazing all the aspects of it were. I may one day re-watch this anime although I do not plan to.

Story [7/10]:
In my opinion the story felt a little bit rushed and it seemed like some episodes could have explained things better. The anime is only 10 episodes long and having seen them all there are a lot of big questions left unanswered. A couple minor details here and there are left unknown to the viewer but the main idea is right there in front of your face and it does a good job of focusing on the more important aspects of the anime and I think it chooses what to include and what not to extremely well. However, personally I would have still appreciated
...
the series to be a little more dragged out because things happen so fast that you ask yourself if you skipped an episode.
Art [10/10]:
My perfect rating in the art aspect of this anime may be a little generous but I believe that the art is really what makes this anime stand out. At first I thought that the art style was ugly and that the animation team behind Devilman: Crybaby did a terrible job but the more I watched the show the more I realized how much the art compliments exactly what Devilman: Crybaby is. The art is so unique and memorable, it is unlike any other anime I have ever seen. It also just goes extremely well with the gore and grim feel throughout the entire anime, I think this style is perfect for the type of story being told in this anime.
Sound [8/10]:
There isn't really much I can say about the sound to be honest, the atmosphere is good throughout the story consistently and especially at one part in particular (no spoilers though, you can figure that one our watching the show). The voice actors are good, it is kind of whenever someone speaks English but that's almost every anime for me. Something that stood out to me was the raps at certain scenes in the anime which typically lead to some time of foreshadowing later on in the series.
Character [8/10]:
Some characters are worse than others and some simply exist without having much of an impact on the story, however the main character Akira Fudo makes up in every aspect that the show make lack in. I personally love Akira Fudo, he is a character that the audience can really relate with and he is a true pinnacle of justice, especially toward the final episodes of the anime. One of the most interesting aspects of the anime is the complete polar opposite personalities of Akira and his childhood friend Ryo.
Enjoyment [8/10]:
This series is one that I watched with my girlfriend and overall this anime was an experience much more than something you watch. The show says something about human nature, it is extremely memorable and something I continue to talk about even after it has ended. I have recommended this anime to some of my friends already and I think that most people will be able to find something in this anime that they truly enjoy and find unique about it compared to every other anime out there right now. I even consider re-watching this series in the future because it is so good.
