I've been immursed in the world of Japanese comics and cartoons ever since my grandmother repeatedly sent me Japanese children's books and animated films. Something she could not understand is that I never learned Japanese, and only spoke English having been born in the United States, though I deeply appreciated any and all gifts she sent for I both loved receiving anything (as I was not what I would refer to as a "spoiled" child, rather just normal) and receiving gifts from my Grandmother -a Japanese woman who moved back to Japan after my grandfather died- who I saw seldom. I tried my hardest to understand those strange lines and symbols and the alien tongue, but to no avail... yet my interest was piqued. From that point forward I began watching Anime and reading manga, having received this deep curiosity as to what they were meant to be.
Sorry for the boring story, but it is how I kind of was exposed to Japanese stuff, then specifically Manga and Anime. Not much to say, other than I like Anime and Manga, and have a deep love for reading and watching all the wondrous creations that come out of Japan.
Feel free to send any questions, comments or just greetings, I love to connect with fellow lovers of this art.
I'm trying to write decent reviews of anime and manga I've read/watched, but I fear many won't find it incredibly helpful. I'm a bad reviewer, for I will give something a 10/10 without hesitation if I truly was moved or felt great emotion for a piece, regardless of it's quality (though the two generally go hand-in-hand).
