Now to answer a question you might have...
" Hey, Hachi.. that time when you were swept away by love.. could it be that we felt the same way? i wonder if you were trying to feel complete too. if it was like that, i understand your feelings a bit. that new life you're trying to protect.. does it make you feel complete?" - Osaki Nana.
One night between sunset and river
On the old bridge we stood, you and I
Will you forget it, I queried, that particular swift that went by?
And you answered so earnestly: Never !
'Til we die, 'til tomorrow, forever,
you and I on the old bridge one night.

My Little Monster - Completed 29/06/2015
This show was easily the fast show that I've completed, and the reason is simple, My Little Monster is by far the best Slice of Life under 24 episodes that I've seen. The characters are so fleshed out, that sometimes it feels like I'm watching the third season of the show, and yet it's the first. Here you have a Slice of Life/Drama done correctly, there are actual people, and not just archetypes, which is so often the case. My Little Monster follows the story of a group of awkward kids, all of which have their own respective issues, however the series leads, Shizuku and Haru are more in the spotlight than the others. The 1st episode is quite shocking, and some die hard Shouji fans will probably scream in agony. But what follows is a very adult show, talking about the consequences of falling in love, and how to balance one's life at the same time. For some like Haru, this isn't a challenge, but for other like Shizuku, it really troubles here throughout the series, read what you want into that. Coming back to the other characters, there's Natsume, who is very unique, seldom is there a character who is hated for her looks, at least in the shows I've seen, and what makes Natsume brilliant is that she has this kind of K-ON vibe, yet combined but Nagisa type personality. What makes this show even more enjoyable is that it can focus correctly on the main characters when it needs to, but at the same time introduces characters flawlessly. There is however an aura of sadness that envelops the show, as if saying that, you need to make friends, or you'll end up seriously disturbed. If you want a story that is refreshing and mature you have hit gold, it also adds comedy as needed, when the situation requires it. There really isn't a reason you shouldn't be watching this show right now, this show has easily renewed my love of anime, and given me this hopeful that I loved leaving a show with.
Sorry it took me a little while to get back to you. With longer replies, I like to take in all of your thoughts and think a little while as to what things to say as every sentence you write always has great meaning. :)
I'm really glad that you are watching Say I Love You! Indeed it's a very good anime and if you haven't finished it already, it's a heartwarming romantic tale. Paradise Kiss sounds pretty enticing after looking at its entry on MAL. The only thing I am hesitant about it is possibly its unique art style. I prefer my characters to have a realistic feel to them but if the anime's story is good, which it sounds like it is, then I would not mind the artwork. I'm not really into Yaoi but the premise of Love Stage!! sounds absolutely hilarious!
It's really difficult to describe Nisekoi. The first season was quite entertaining but since it's a harem, there is not much love coming from the heart, or in other words, love that feels real. Nevertheless, it does a good job of balancing development between each female lead. However, if you have gotten to the second season, things start to fall apart. It lacks the charm of the first season.
more characters are introduced and writing good stories for each character is plain difficult. I didn't like second season from both entertainment and story standpoints.
I think if you don't finish it, you will not miss out on anything.
In Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, I definitely did see how it took a different way of telling a shoujo story. I did appreciate how Shizuku was a strong character who, in my opinion, had much fewer problems than the typical shoujo female lead. Like you said, she had an exceptional self-control when it came to her emotions and it was a relief to see someone evaluate their emotions before moving to the next step.
Perhaps my biggest complaint was Haru because I couldn't quite figure why he was such a violent person and the anime didn't solve that mystery for me. I recall they did a small flashback to his past but I felt the story didn't capture those moments and use them to round out his character. And that chicken...he (? I can't recall the name Haru gave it) was a tad annoying.
You have, however, further convinced me that I should give My Little Monster another shot. Maybe I wasn't fully relaxed when watching the show so I should clear my mind and start fresh!
I will get to NANA soon! After Clannad: AS, I haven't felt anything that touched the bottom of my heart so I am really looking forward to watching! Oh, and Honey and Clover is also another one that I want to watch as well. I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts from Say I Love You!! I can't describe my excitement when I get to read something that you write because your reviews are simply meticulously crafted and well-articulated. Please continue to publish reviews!!
Didn't notice your review on My Little Monster on your About Me profile until today! Haha! I didn't have a favourable opinion of that anime as I thought it was really drawn out. But I recall feeling really sleepy when watching it so maybe I should give it a whirl again after reading your opinion on it!
Btw, your Nana review is awesome. I haven't seen it yet but I will be soon!
NANA...it's pretty highly rated in the YouTube recommendations video for romance and now that you recommend it as well, I'll probably take a look at it. The reason I don't have it on my list is that the artwork was really strange to me, just like Clannad. It was a turn-off for me but I think I should give it a try and focus on the story aspect of it.
Chihayafuru sounds neat! I'm scared of going into rage mode if I don't see the characters get together but hinting at the romance is a nice tease like you said. I think my next few anime-watching projects are set: NANA and Chihayafuru!
Looking back at my own review for Sakurasou, I feel I gave it too high of a RF. Like in your review, the focus of the show was on school and the individual struggles of the characters, not on romance. Personally, I enjoyed how the writers showed the MCs "losing" because more often than not, most shows just have the characters get everything, which makes the story feel unrealistic.
Regarding the romance, it didn't pop out of nowhere, especially between Sorata and Shiina. You could see that the writers wanted them to be together. I also agree with you about Aoyama. She is the best girl in the anime and her and Sorata should have gotten together (remember the practicing her lines on Sorata's bicycle? That was such a great scene).
I don't think you were too harsh on the series. You were definitely spot on about how romance was in the back seat and how the show was mostly about challenges. I really liked your quote about the crying for losing a competition and how at your age, it's like "whatever." I definitely feel the same way there!
Btw, your comments are definitely not clumsy. I really enjoy reading perspectives so I greatly appreciate you sharing yours!! Thanks!!
Hey! I really like all types of genres so I just float from one to the other tbh ^^ Kimi ni Todoke was really cute but I know what you mean about staying motivated.. It does get more interesting though so I guess you should keep going! I actually have been planning on watching Clannad and thanks for the suggestions~
I'll check it out as soon as I'm done with my current anime, if your still looking for more anime try this, its different from the ones I usually watch however, http://myanimelist.net/anime/20507/Noragami
I laughed so hard while reading your message XD yes it's too much to ask for XD I don't really watch hentai for the plot but for the sex and some of it is really badly drawn and wheni judge it I say just that lol I say the drawing style was crap. A lot of hentai's have dull cliché plots and a lot of the time I like hentai mangas better or yaoi.
I don't know why but I loved the weird hair in Shiki and I was in love with Ozaki's hair! It suits him so well ^^

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TOO! Haha.
I'm sorry I don't have a picture to go with it though. (I don't even know how to attach one.) Haha.
Have a great birthday and a happy new year.
