Task: Create a radio or TV infomercial for a product based one of the texts we studied this term.
Your infomercial:
Based on an item from one of the texts studied this term (Macbeth, Lord of the Flies, book club novel, any short texts).
You do not have to create the product (the physical product itself will not be marked, just the concept)- but you do have to pitch it/sell it!
Your target audience: the general public, but you need to cleverly incorporate the concept of the characters in your text.
For example: Lady M. Spot Remover- can be targeted to the general public, but incorporate quotes from the play (i.e. “out damn spot”).
Must be completed during class time (Monday, Jan. 15th- Thursday, Jan. 18th).

One day to write script
Two days to edit/practice
You may either present or film. If you opt to film, come see me.
Keep in mind that this is a media project, so you must include special effects, etc.
Must be presented in class (Friday, Jan. 19 – Monday, Jan. 22).
Remember that this assignment is worth 15% of your final grade. This is done in class. If you miss a day, a doctor’s note is required.
Tips:
Use persuasive techniques (logical and emotional appeals).
Use all of the principles of infomercials (see sample notes: Principles of Infomercials).
When presenting, be lively and show that you are interested in your product: you are trying to sell it!
Show your knowledge of your chosen text by using quotes, character information, plot structure, symbolism, etc.
Your video should be between 1-2 minutes in length
