Although I still view Hachiman as a good character, I can definitely see what you mean. He is the epitome of satire, and his personality is exaggerated. I still think he has some great moments, but he actually isn't as fleshed out as I had hoped he would be. You know where there are those moments where something happens, and you expect some sort of growth? That moment that makes you have that "Aww" reaction? I don't remember anything like that from Hachiman. He didn't change much, and I guess that is a flaw in him. However, I enjoyed him as he was, which might be why I didn't notice this at first.
The reason why people like this anime is because they relate to it. I relate to it. I can understand everything that Hachiman is going through. He pulls at my heartstrings and I think he's a great character. He doesn't PLAY the bad guy; he was made out to be the bad guy, and eventually he just got used to the role.
I'm sure that the characters you like, you like because you relate to them. Maybe you simply can't understand Hachiman or the rest of the characters, but he's been hurt so many times that he doesn't WANT to be liked. He doesn't want to be an extrovert. What he really wants is to be left alone, but slowly, he begins to warm up near the end. I think this is a very endearing trait.
You made your review very personal and opinionated without really giving us much about the anime. You only talked about the characters, never about what you didn't like. Go more in depth. Keep in mind that the more information you give, the more you can sway people - or the more you can help a person find an anime that they really love.
I hope to hear your opinion in more depth.
