Hakuoki really surprised me,it wasn't the cheesy love and friendship will solve all,it really kind of shows how harsh war can be.

Story(9/10)

Interesting idea of a plot,telling history from the point of view of the main character that actually took part to the events.Pretty much everything except the furies and demon thing is related to the real events.I loved the sword fighting and the way Shinsengumi was so dedicated to being warriors fighting with their swords warmed up my heart.I will not understand ever male pride though,haha.I should have expected this but when some of my favourite characters(Yamazaki and Inoue) really brought me to tears.


Art(9/10)

This ... one I really loved!Eyecandy is the best candy!Who doesn't want to see hot boys as historical characters fighting?Me neither!Lol,joking aside I like the art in this anime,it's pretty.The details and scenes are done well,didn't see anything weird or wrong.They could have made Chizuru look a little different,it kind of bothered me how different her eyes and face looked from the others,even if she was a female.

Sound(9/10)

I love the opening and ending,they suit the overall atmosphere of the anime.The voice acting is good too,the characters personality can be felt from the way they talk.


Character(8/10)

The male ''love interests'' have all unique personalities,they don't ''overlap'' too much.Personally,I loved Okita and Harada the most.You can not love Harada,he is simply such a gentleman.Okita is quite the opposite and always teases and threatens the heroine but he has something that attracted me nonetheless.The main characters bother me a little.I have played the game too and I have to say that I am disappointed with how ''weak and damsel in distress'' Chizuru is.God damn it,she is a demon!Give her some powers!Also.why is Hijikata the main?C'mon,I know they make a good pair but I am kind of tired of the cold tsundere boys always being the main.

Despite some of its flaws,it a pretty good anime.I like to see comedy and silly animes but serious ones are nice from time to time.I enjoyed it.Those ninja though,they were cutting a lot of onions towards the end.


Overall(9/10)

This score might be a biased because I played the game and saw the whole series and that made me attached to it.This first season has a pretty stable conclusion,it didn't look that unfinished even if it has a second season.*Sigh* I will do a review for that one soon too even if it sadens me.History can be harsh.

Gangsta is definitely one of my favourite anime watched in a while but the only disappointing thing about it is the ''end''

STORY(8/10)

Quite an interesting and original story if I may say so.It combines ''real'' elements like the fight for supremacy of fammilies,drugs,murder,sex and the such.The combination of the new element which is the Twilights with this is of course,a plus for me.I love the fight scenes and how the Handymen do their jobs.I might need to watch it again to fully understand it.The alteration of past and present and the events that led the characters to their relationships is also pretty realistic,they ... all have their own problems like:alcholic parents,dead parents,poverty,disabilities and the such.No friendship bullshit and too strong MCs.It also made cry while not being overdramatic.They all have their flaws and qualities.The only thing that led me to rate it lower is that it's unfinished as the studio who made this is bankrupt and the manga is on hiatus...

I really don't feel that there is much to complain about it.I love how the art looks and the animation is pretty good most of the time.Some might look kinda weird sometimes but it's not that noticeable.I am surprised the studio is not doing well but things in Japan are hard I guess...

SOUND(10/10)

LOVE IT!Just love it!Best opening and ending I heard in a while,I love those beats and their voices,Nicolas's one is done pretty well and Worick's voice actor is one of my faves!

Character(9/10)

I would have rated it 10 but I kind of feel like some things are missing,maybe it's because I am frustrated it was so short and knew the characters for only 12 episodes.I love all the MCs and side characters as well and of course wonder why the antagonists really need to do what they do...Nicolas is one hell of a badass!He may not be able to speak but I can feel his strong character and kind heart.Really awesome to see a main character who has lost one of his senses.He may not be able to convey all of his feelings and may be misunderstood by others but idk,I like him.I want to know what's up with the one he loved too but I guess that's not happening.Worick is also an nice character despite being a ''playboy'' and has a interesting backstory,an awesome intellect and brings some cheerfulness to the ''dark'' setting.I also like Alex,she may have done things in the past but she was doing it for the good of her loved ones.She is a kind and sweet girl,she suffers because of her past but still is able to overcome it with the help of her parteners and thank goodness she is not one of those damsels in distress.The other characters are nice too,I liked Doug...

ENJOYMENT(9/10)

I enjoyed it,really did,a catchy story with well developed characters but too abrupt of an end.Maybe I'll read the manga.

I know math says it's 9 but I wanna say it's 8,ok?Great anime,really liked it,but I felt like there should be more to it,more things explained,that's the reason I rated it like this...
