So, now that school's out, what are you doing with your summer?

Yeah...this past season was pretty disappointing, in my opinion. Shingeki and Maou-Sama have been pretty good, but everything else I've seen has been pretty meh to me.

I hear that line a lot from my die-hard movie fan friends: "there's no other way to watch them BUT in a theater". You're sounding a lot like them. Do you go often? :)

I've always been a few steps behind the curve, even when I was really devoted to comics. I hated one issue per month formats, so I'd usually wait for the trade and have half a year's worth of material in my hands. It's usually a little cheaper, to boot.

Newspaper? Pfft. I'm not THAT old. :P

Oh, money's not a problem. It's just that I have a hard time enjoying movies in theaters; I've never liked going.

I've...fallen out of the loop quite a bit, and I don't know where to start to get back in. There are so many events each year to go along with the ongoings that a year might as well be a decade. I really need to do my research and figure out what I need to read, but I've been lazy and just watching anime to pass my free time. :P

Really? Awesome! You're the third or fourth person who's told me it's worth watching. I'll definitely rent it if I don't get out to the theaters to see it this summer. :)

Well, I USED to. My interest in comics has petered out a bit over the past couple of years; I stopped reading completely for a while, and now I don't know where to start to get back in.

Everyone has an opinion, especially comic fans (and anime fans, for that matter), but everyone I met there was surprisingly nice and tolerant. Most are nice people in real life; just don't piss them off on the Internet. ;)

Woohoo! I'll re-re-read issue 1 later on, and maybe issue 2 while I'm at it.

I am waiting for the final decision to where to go on may vacation, on island or to another country hmmm.

Tickets for it are definitely hard to get. The first time I went, tickets went on sale the previous October, and sold out within an hour or two; I was entering my information, pounding on refresh, and hoping it register me. I got lucky. The second time I went, in '11, I had purchased tickets at the '10 con. That was much easier.

The lines were pretty brutal. But most of the people around me were pretty cool, and we wound up spending hours shooting the shit while we waited to get in/get our stuff. It wasn't as bad as you might think. Lines are a big part of SDCC; there's a line for damn near everything.

Traveling and staying are two completely different things. A change of scenery every once in a while is good for you. I consider the city I live in my home, but there's a whole world outside of it, you know. I'd like to explore when I have the chance.

When you do, let me know! I'll pick it up and re-read it with you. :)
