I personally found SAO II slightly better than s1 because of the last arc.
But honestly... Would you really rate the enjoyment of SAO II as a 10/10 even after that terrible Excalibur arc? It took me 2 months to finish it because of how absurdly horrible it was.
- Frankly the story's still terrible, being one that loathes the first season, I thought "OK maybe they fixed pacing and actually get plot development..." but what I got was plenty of Assada-san's ass shots, filler, and forced drama. The only thing they somewhat fixed was the pacing, some parts was still felt as rushed. As another puts it, the plot was basically "time to save the day and wink at my bitches".
- Gary Stu is still the prick he is with the status of Kamisama in a Gun game using a lightsaber. Waifu is still a pretty face for the sake of fanservice, as is Assada-san. TBH Yuuki would be the only one I would give character development to.
You sir just made a very good Sword Art Online II review. I may not agree with your score (I scored it at 8) but reasonable. Majority of SAO II reviews are blinded by hate.
