I'm an old guy (46) who fell into anime while working as a designer and illustrator. I got sucked in by the art and really began to like the insights into Japan. I think Akira was the 1st anime I enjoyed, then GITS then FLCL which pretty much put me over the top and got me watching anime whenever I get some free time. I mostly lurk to see what other's feel about the shows I like. Maybe I'll contribute to the conversation
