The funny thing is that all of this more or less exists in WoW as well, its all just calculated so quickly in the background that you can kill most things in a matter of seconds and then go now what. At max level, running heroics every day is simply the easiest way to gear up now by far (if very time-consuming), so people continue to queue up for instances long after they actually stopped having fun in them, which obviously isnt great either. But once you hit 100, unless youre running the Epic Mount trait, chances are youre not going to see results until the next day. Every day you are alive is a special occasion! Plus, this is going to be my 100th post on this blog, so I might as well make it something special. There are even special quests related to mounts, especially for Paladins. Of course the problem with a game like WoW is that no matter how much there is to do, a lot of it simply wont appeal to everyone, so its quite possible to run out of things youre interested in doing. Its just all on a much smaller scale, so even a small plus to a single stat can make a lot of difference. To make things worse, you cant have two items that give you the same stat bonus, so I couldnt have boots of charisma as well. WoWs fast combat is missing that, but on the other hand it means that youre left with more time to admire the scenery and do other things (even if I guess that many players dont actually appreciate that). And complaining that theres nothing left to do? Still, it does make you wonder what a game like WoW would be like if your first priority after creating your character was not to level up, but to join a party and get acquainted. Still, theres a pretty good chance that youll lose a few party members throughout the campaign, but players are generally pretty laid back about this, because while you lose your character, it doesnt mean that youre out of the game. Nonetheless good items are still highly coveted. There are many books about the backstory you could read, or you could try out Hearthstone, the free digital card game from Blizzard. Your current card will likely then be checked from the online sites application and you will be stated because safe bet if you possess correct routine. And I hate feeling that way, because it bugs me when other people pull this card on me. So yeah, I hate to hear those complaints from other people, and yet Im thinking similar thoughts myself at the moment. Thinking of the massive single-stat stacking thats going on in WoW, that just makes me laugh. Im having a blast so far, but its also a kind of strange experience for a WoW player, because WoW was my first roleplaying game of any kind, so going back to one of its ancestors is both weird and enlightening. The obvious reason why that doesnt work in an MMO like WoW is that youre going to encounter a lot of strangers, with whom you wont interact nearly as cordially as you do with your friends, so its a completely different environment to begin with. Why do I need to join a raid guild? But then I think of guild chat being dead because nobody is online, raids getting cancelled because there arent enough signups, and I feel guilty. People rarely running instances was not a sign of instances being inherently un-fun, and people camping in the peace cave in AV was not a sign of battlegrounds being more fun than anything else, these things were just signs of something being out of whack. I mean, your character might temporarily get separated from the group,...
