Chobits was one of those things I heard about as a kid, but never thought to get into until recently. For as high of recommendations as I had heard for this series, I was more or less underwhelmed. Though the art is very well done and there are very good messages about loving others for who they are, not what they are, the plot itself felt fairly narrow. I wasn't surprised by anyone's actions and I wasn't pulled emotionally at very many points. Everything about Hideki and Chii's actions felt predictable to me. It was an okay read, but I don't think I'd go back

Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul

After watching Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul, I was actually pleasantly surprised by it. The story is pretty good and it's a fresh look on the world the previous series dabbled in. There was enough new mixed with the old and the exploration on the characters and their motivations was a welcomed change of pace. It wasn't as action pact as the previous series, but I think it still held itself well. There are also quiet a few emotional moments, too. The ending is a little mixed for me. I like how it turned out for some characters, but some elements could have been better.

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis

I picked this up on a whim not knowing very much about it and was I taken for a ride! There are so many different elements and themes going on that I was always surprised by what came next! I think that's what I liked most about it. All the twists and turns really kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat! It's a little rushed at times with everything being shoved into 12 episodes, but I think it handles itself fairly well despite that.
I won't say more since I don't want to spoil anything, but I highly recommend checking this one out!

This was one of those anime I just couldn't get into. I tried. I really, really tried and wanted to like it since I heard such good things about it, but it just never happened. The characters were alright, but I wasn't really engaged with it. I think I wanted there to be more growth with the characters, but they stayed more or less the same all the way to where I decided to drop it.
It's a cute show, but I just don't think it was for me. Give it a shot though. You might enjoy it more than I do.

Full Moon wo Sagashite was such an amazing trip to re-experience. I read the manga years ago as a kid and really enjoyed it, but I didn't know there was an anime until recently. I was so drawn in that watched the entire thing in a few days! Mixing such beautiful and fun moments with bitter ones is really what got me the most.
This is really an anime for all audiences. The characters are lovable with great chemistry. The story is bittersweet and inspiring. The music is just phenomenal! (The openings aren't what I would prefer, but everything else is just astounding!) I really don't ... Previous - |
