I recall watching this as it aired, and was very disappointed. Not like some shows where I just lose all interest in watching it. I just kept hoping it would somehow turn that art and sound that was already well done into a masterpiece with a good story but it never happened. I actually enjoy fighting in real life in matches. So for me I love the feeling of "Fuck yes LETS KILL THEM" figuratively of course to pump myself up for the match and that same kind of blood thirst came across is some of the scenes. Sadly
...
the main characters were about as dull as the person who thought static faces were okay. Like sure in a book that is fine but this is called "Animation" for a reason. So sadly the crazy blood thirsty characters never outdid the lame people. I just sat there like ow wow who cares, even when the main characters were in trouble I was like "Please kill them" and end my pain. They should have reversed the rolls and make the bad guys with emotions be the main protagonist and the boring one personality good people the antagonist. At least then I could have cheered for the people I was directed to support. I just watched it again to see if I may had miss remembered it as I was deciding if I wanted to view season 2 when it is released. One good thing I can say is I love the blood thirsty faces and those eyes man are mesmerizing. Not worth watching just for that alone.

May I just say well done. I actually watched this when it was released, but man the Subbed really killed it for me. Well let me be frank and say 7 out of 10 which is why I am watched it again. This time I watched it dubbed and may I just say it was so good it could make me cry. I can say it is worth watching and watching dubbed at least in English. No idea who they got to voice him but the sames joke told in subbed were a "ow that is cute/quaint" but in
...
dubbed with his tone is just makes it for me. That is my rant, just watched dubbed even if your a subbed master they did a way better job with the tone and projection in the dubbed.

May I just start off saying... wow I loved the art and the sound of this anime. The story was okay, and it was one of those almost skit like anime that never goes anywhere. A love triangle story where they just do the classic ping pong back and forth and no one can solidify a relationship. That is not where this anime shines. This anime shines from the funny and outrageous things that happen and the Faces that go with those scenes. Nothing like seeing a devil get whats coming by a human but the human has the smile
...
of a devil while the devil has the look of .. ow I messed up ... forgive me. In all honesty that is why I liked it but I did think the romance was cute but nothing to write home about. Lastly I will say I plan on reading the manga if I get time, as the ending of the anime certainly leaves many lose ends. Which it did not seem like they were trying to leave as many lose ends as they did they just got rushed is more the feeling. So if your like me and want a more complete story I would say read the manga because from other sources the anime jumps around the manga so it is hard to pick up after watching. That being said it was still well done and I laughed so if your just an anime person I would give this a shot.

In all honesty I gathered a couple anime to watch during lunch breaks. I actually confused this one with a different one, and kept thinking to myself this is actually interesting but not at all like what I thought it would be. So in all honesty I can say I was very happy I watched this, and I actually have issues spoiling the story for myself but because I thought it was a different story that never happened. I thought some of the plot was just to foreshadowed and was easy to spoil for myself. That being said I did not
...
see the ending happen. Though I will admit the last episode was very powerful, the last scene in it was unneeded. There are some shows that are so open ended and leave so much to your interpretation that to solidify an ending you must show it. This was not one, when the second to last scene ended you pretty much could have guessed. My only thought was they added in the last scene to also be like "Ow that is why they titled it that". Beyond all that though if you want something that will entertain you and does not require much thought to keep up with this is a good show for short breaks. But I will say it got me twice, where in all honesty I see where you could have pieced it together but I did not. I really enjoy it when I do not see the story before it unfolds. I did get most of it but maybe just a bit off and I love that. If you love that then I would recommend you watch this.

Not a bad anime, as others have states. Just not my cup of tea. I like to binge watch shows, when I have a lot of spare time. That being said with this anime I could not. I had to watch each arch separated by some time. If it took any of the stories and kept it going I would have loved that. Sadly it felt like a bunch of 4 episode anime's packaged together with all the restarting. Just a personal issue others do not seem to mind, but please note if you are like me and
...
like to binge watch 12+ episodes as to not think about the plot to much and spoil it for yourself but get a lot out of it, then this is not for you. Sure you can knock these out but I would have loved to get more out of it. I did not realize it kept switching and restarting before I stared sadly and I am a completionist. Though I will not ever watch this again.

I thought this was a very good anime, with some masterpiece moments. Very rarely do I go and look into other peoples thoughts on events in a show I watch. That being said sometimes you just have one of those holy shit what just happened and what do others think about this moments very few shows have. Most are predictable but this one actually had me watching things over and over for deeper meaning, checking all the facial expressions and body language. Though I must say that watching it subbed and dubbed may lead to different conclusions on certain things.
...
I think Subbed is much better as I think it is much more original. Things did not all translate into english well when they tried to infer things and make everything flow better. I am pretty picky and I rate things on true enjoyment. I do not tend to review things I do not absolutely love as it would be a waste of time. My only real issue with this and one of the reasons I did not watch it for so long is it has no book/manga. This means you get the 12 episodes and that is all. They did leave it open for me things to happen but I read sales were poor so no more will likely come out. I did not take this into my review but please note that. There was no real cliff hanger beyond just seeing what will happen but it left at a good spot as I really appreciate good endings, which leave great lasting impressions. It is an anime I will watch again in a couple years if not sooner. Still hung up on episode 11.. which I spent hours looking over and then hours online to see other peals interpretations of and I like my conclusion but I still feel so unsure as I am so torn on how I should be viewing things. Though I am pretty sure I came to my conclusion after watching that in subbed without losing it in translation, which opened my eyes to another meaning. To wrap this up, not really big into these psychological anime's because a lot are so, ow saw that from a mile away, and ow so it has been like this but for shock value we are doing that now? This did not really have any which was refreshing. Short anime you can knock out in a weekend with some down time and I was avoiding it for many reasons but like my friends who convinced me I am also suggesting you watch it as well. You hopefully will not be disappointed, as I surely was not.

This is a review over the first 6 movies though I assume all the movies they will release.
To keep this short 100 people dead in a different country will have less of an impact on you than the death of one close person. Sadly no one told the writer of this. So many people die which is fine, but it is all like omg they are dying and the bad people are laughing manically. Sadly because at best I know one thing about them they are basically strangers and when they die as soldier I could not care less. We have all
...
had those moments in something we watched where we were like fuck now, they better live. Sometimes they do not and when the good guys get revenge yous like yes tear them apart now we get to laugh like a maniac. Which this show tries to go after time after time but not once was I moved. More or less I was just like ow wow the bad guy got killed ow wow that was as thrilling a death as the good people they killed... someone kill me next please because I do not want me gravestone to say lamed to death by an anime.
I am not one of those noise in the air anime watchers who are like OMG I have seen this already be origional ect ect ect. This one just did not do anything form me, which I saw it really go after. It does not make you care about all the no name people who died, it does not make me like the main guy who does not want to kill, but after one thing gets over that shit fast but still complains like the whole series. Last of all it wasted so much time to resolve nothing. So much time was wasted on increasing the pointless backstory of people I cared nothing about when the people on the battle field they wanted me to care about when they died got nothing... and most of the people a backstory was built up on, the very few of those few even did anything.
I am very nice as a reviewer some things get me going and I am always happy as a person it does not take much to amuse me. So just note that means I did not like this at all and a 4 from me is probably a 2 from harsher people.
Also I will say there was one funny part where 2 guns are pulled out and shoved into the main character for something he said. Out of the evening we watched this anime while messing around for the 4 hours of content it provided I can say this one moment was the only moment I was like holy shit that was funny and good why can the rest not be more like this? Sadly that one minute worth of content was surrounded in an ocean of ow cool there killing people.. why the hell is random grunt number 12 getting screen time. This all being said I have a thing for Mech anime lately where I would rate Aldnoah.Zero and Heavy Object very highly. I love the music, the growth, how smart the main guys are. I love everything about those anime's so maybe I am judging this one in bias, but I felt like everything I loved about them was done way worse or not even attempted here. Like if anyone has ever watched Aldnoah.Zero.. you know when some shit is about to go down when that music start I was just like omg yes yes yes tear them apart, I was like a pavlov dog but instead of a bell, it was just that sweet sweet music that would make me drool, as I knew some cool shit was going down. In Heavy Object had more of this slice of life where you got to really know the people and you cared about them. It has good humor that makes you laugh and even though they are being shot at half the time with their quick quips. I will just say that I do not think I will ever watch this serious again. Where I do plan on watching many other ones for multiple times with larger breaks in the middle, but not ever for this one with its lack of arch completion and character development. Plus with all that combat it never had me like OMG YES fuck them up, end there lives, kill them all!... I get a bit into it okay. I guess while writing this review I realized it just did not bring any emotions out of me hardly for the amount of time I spent watching it. Felt like they just used a bunch of filler techniques not that I think about it. I personally cannot recommend it. Maybe a different more detailed media would be better suited for this like a Light novel. The whole idea of how the mechs work is very cool. Along with more backstory maybe peoples deaths would mean something. I will say we watched the whole thing, while means it was not the worst thing just we did not focus on it and instead watched other things. Though few things like Blood Vore make us turn it off but also few things make us all watch. So I would say a lower middle score like 4 is good.

I watched this series through a date night. I am pretty emotional deficient as a person. Even when people die close to me I tend to not feel much at all. So this anime kind of shocked me, as I was tearing up a bit at the end. Though I should admit I worry more over the living, just a logical thing for me. So after this was just all made up it really shock me that it actually got to me. Normally as the man you should comfort your significant other when the movie makes them sad, but
...
I was so engrossed and had to rub my eyes a couple times towards the end to be able to see better again with it getting a bit fuzzy. Though I think I may have ruined it for my viewing partner as any time I would look over she looked back kind of shocked. Very view shows have ever done this to me and when I watched clannad after story. I work HealthCare and IT and I do not write enough reviews to go off so I will not waste your time with a lengthy explanation. Just know it is well worth a watch, even if our heart is black as coal it might just touch it.

I really like this Manga because it is so unique. I also read it for the first time when Sword Art Online and Log Horizon were very popular. I loved the characters I knew who they truly were and what drove them without getting so much I did found it droning on. The two volumes I have are not in my primary language english, that being said even though it was a slow read I enjoyed the story very much. The first one was a must read at a 10, though the second volume dipped down to around an 8.
...
This is because the first one was more around his own personal issues in a dungeon. Was very interesting to me. The second one was him helping others, which I did not find as interesting. He can transfer to any body that is not human so him helping people with detective work seemed lame due to how easy it seemed. Really no, WOW that was amazing and so intense moments. I was told by my friend who recommended it to me, as she works as a translator and can read much faster than myself that the future volumes get intense again and even more so than the original volume. I would at least recommend the first volume, just for the promise of someone trapped in a dungeon with nothing but unintelligent creatures, yet craves companionship. He can possess creatures but not the one creature he actually wants to interact properly with the humans.

Only writing this to help others have a good mind set going into it. I kind of held off because I saw a bunch of 1-3's but It is not. It will be if you go into it with the wrong mind set. This is not really a harem. He is not after the girls and most are not after him. Their is fan service, but the main lead is hardly ever their for it. All of his students are all aiming for something, and he is trying to help them.
Story: Pretty basic, but well executed. No
...
jumps in logic. Nothing is done for shocker value. Though that is not normally done in this genre. Ending also wrapped up nicely which is always important.
Art: I would say it was rather enjoyable. I am not really that interested in art style as long as it is above a certain threshold I hardly notice it. This was fairly well done and I had no complaints.
Sound: it was all well done as well, though the suspenseful "holy shit this is happening" music was always the same. By the end you instantly knew when something was about to turn solely based on the music. Voiced were amazing though.
Characters: They are all shown first episode basically. You get a really good idea of who they really are and what flaws they have. They all get a good amount of air time as they solve their issues and grow stronger.
Enjoyment: I enjoyed it but I have no idea why anyone would care that I enjoyed it. I would say if you watch the first three episodes and are not enjoying it drop it. The first one can paint a false picture. The second kind of gets you to realize what it really is. Then by the third you get it.
Overall: I would watch a second season.
If you want a story about the weak and misunderstood growing to become strong but still unappreciated yet they are still fine with it, this might just be for you.
