Rankings: Based on the level of enjoyment I had while watching. The anime doesn't have to be good when it comes to technicalities, but it can still be enjoyable. A prime example of this would be SAO, a show with many- and I mean MANY- flaws, but is a decent starter if you are new to anime. I'm pretty lenient with my scores, so 10s are frequent. I distinguish the all time bests with the Elite tag.
1-5 stars: Trash shows, either poor art quality, unoriginal and bland OVAs, bad character and plot design, etc...
6 stars: decent but bland. I didn't hate the show, but at least one major area (art, plot, character, sound) was severely lacking. Forgettable
7 stars: average. I can recall the basic premise, but either was confusing or uninteresting. These shows don't strike me as ones I might watch again
8 stars: enjoyable. I had a good time with these shows. All aspects of the show were done well or even excellent. Even with some technical flaws, these shows were fun to watch and pulled me through the entire experience. Good chance I might watch again
9 stars: Amazing! These are shows I will clearly remember for a long time, whether due to the plot, characters, or music. The plot is probably original, or captivated me. I cried, laughed, or was so engaged with the show I couldn't put it down.
10 stars: These shows really hooked me. I was engaged the whole time. Everything about the show to me was enjoyable. Nothing was annoying, and the entire experience was pleasant. Definitely would watch again and recommend, even if in technicalities they weren't good.
