Yeah, I don't see why people would give it that low of a score either, the setting was interesting, the chemistry between the 1st class and the weeds was done quite well (albeit annoying at times), and the animation was beautiful.
But from what I've heard, it's not that it's a bad series, it's that it's a bad adaptation. Like Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance for example, the light novel for it is supposed to be amazing, but the anime fails to keep that standard. Same goes with the Phantom Bullet arc of SAO, it's a brilliant read and has a lot of emotion in it with Sinon being one of the best developed characters in the whole series, when the anime is mediocre at best and the character development of Sinon feels rushed, unlike in the novel where it took it's time, giving you a lot more of an emotional response towards the end.
Honestly, I would have liked the Mahouka a lot more if they didn't focus on the wrong thing. In Mahouka, you have these brilliantly animated and executed fight scenes that leave you astonished, but then all that astonishment goes away after they take 10 minutes out of the show to explain every single detail that happened in those 5 seconds.
That's the problem with Mahouka, it focuses too heavily on exposition and not enough on the things that it does good. Also the brother sister thing kinda weirds me out, it only works on certain occasions like OreImo, not this.
I wouldn't give it a 10 but a 7 or an 8 is ok in my opinion. But I've heard people complain its to fast not slow. But it's getting a lot better with the last arc. But I can't understand how people complain that the anime isn't explaining how the magic works. Like come on people it's not hard to understand when you're watching the show.
Actually, the common complain with Mahouka is "this is fucking boring", and it is common among people that have better things to do than being talk to death.
On the other side, unless you are trolling, you may not want to insult other people opinions. If you are trolling, good for you, I just fell for that one.
