i agree with you, and this is the reason when people first come across it, it seams like the same thing, however, what was nice about the show was that the plot actually begins to advance (unlike most shows of this genre) and even partially changes half way through the series. Even the characters change, those you thought were allies become enemies and vise versa. You do make an excellent point but the one thing i liked about this show was the concept of a master puppeteer controlling the main characters if you will. Its actually a shame you stopped it because that is when that theme really comes into play. Also, the ending was something i really enjoyed because it was very atypical (there were no loop holes if you will). It's quite a good ending, especially the last four episodes.
Sorry i ranted :) i don't know if that helped but I believe you will probably really enjoy the last few episodes and even have you asking for more the way it ends

I completely agree! I was so surprised by the series. I normally don't watch magical girl genre at all or anything. I don't know why I started watching it, but I'm so glad that I did. I think it helped me understand that just because an anime may be in a certain genre or something, doesn't mean that it is cliche or predictable.
