I once wanted to major in sociology to make the world a better place, but I lost faith in humanity and dropped out of college. Ever since I have been a bum with no goals in life. I'm also getting bored with anime. I have seen pretty much all good movies and played all good games that have been made. I need to find new hobbies.
In any work of fiction, original ideas is the most important thing. Then characters, emotions. I quickly get bored with things that are too heavily focused on complex plot and not enough on emotions. Any fanservice completely ruins the characters involved, and therefore often has a large impact on the whole work.
Anyway, some intelligent stuff that has interested me either very recently or as far as I can remember, not sorted in any way:
The art of M. C. Escher
Bionic architecture - such as Dubai City Tower or these
http://www.amritray.com/2012/03/10-stunning-futuristic-architectural-projects-for-greener-environment/ (Despite it being bullshit I don't mind global warming propaganda if it produces such beautiful building designs!). I once also wanted to be an architect and make the world more beautiful place (the fact I can't decide whether I am more artistically or scientifically minded also played a role...). I have been madly in love with the bionic style ever since I first saw the designs. The DDR-style concrete boxes so abundant in my country make me depressed!
Buckminster Fuller's inventions and philosophy
The concept of Resource Based Economy. If you ask me the definition of 'money', I will answer 'decentralized totalitarianism'. That's the only way I have ever been able to see it, long before I saw Zeitgeist Addendum. I'm not anymore feeling exactly prone to believing humankind can actually habituate to such system, however.
Sun Tzu's Art of War and military strategy in general - great primer:

Taoist philosophy - read Raymond Smullyan's essay "Is God a Taoist?" and see it's not really anything like what they teach in school. (Actually you should read any essay by Smullyan such as this:

Science in general, but recently I have been intensely fascinated with string theory. It brings back the elegance that has been missing in physics ever since Periodic Table was invented and Platonic Solids (or their variations) as possible atoms refuted. (Some day I'm going to understand the math behind it too!)
The Indie Documentary Film "Ancient Aliens Debunked" and all the related stuff. I believed in the ancient astronaut theory ever since I first saw a documentary on tv, but no longer. Actually I think Däniken should be prosecuted for fraud...
Sweet Lolita clothing - just as with bionic architecture, the mindblowing beauty of this design style triggers an euphoric feeling in me... I ought to learn sewing so I can make clothes that look just me.
Gender studies - well, being born in a wrong type of body kinda forces you to be interested in this subject. A technologically aided postgenderist society is one of my hopelessly idealist dreams.
Art history and art theory - I have yet to find anyone surpassing Escher... the interrelations between all sciences and arts fascinates me.
World mythologies - I still don't know whether I should believe in Jungian psychology or not...
Puzzle books by Raymond Smullyan, Martin Gardner, W. W. Rouse Ball etc. ... I've just recently discovered how interesting math can be when its not your typical tedious school math... in fact recreational math and math having everything to do with seeing things in the world differently (Game Theory, Chaos Theory, Topology, Fractals) have recently become my main interests.
'Midcore' games: Portal and Ikaruga are my two all time favorites. I only play 2-3 games a year now and choose the most innovative ones. I will never be a hardcore gamer no matter how bored I get as I see that being an extremely unintelligent hobby. MMOs kill creativity.
I once wanted to write several long speculative fiction stories but have lost motivation to develop my original ideas and I don't think I would be able to write about anything but a total crapsack world anymore. Which I don't exactly want to write. We'll see.
