Noein and Escaflowne. Not bad. From what I've seen of Heat Guy J I'm not impressed.

I haven't seen Code Geass, however I have had the ending spoiled to me, which from what I understand knowing the ending kills any watching potential.

Very interested in this new take on Geass though. Once all 4 OVAs/movies are out I'll give them a go.

I'm sorry for all the haters who didn't like Code Geass but personally I thought the show was great and yes I did look at it from another angle than just "Oh this looks great." Taniguchi Goro has some great shows under his belt and Geass is one of them.

Akane as his work cut out for him though, he doesn't have Lelouch in the series and his style is vastly different than Goro's. Some think it's good but his job is to please the fans of the series not those who didn't like it to start with so yeah some endeavor indeed. Hopefully he'll do a fine job at satisfying the fans as well as reeling in some new ones to the series.

My only concern is that when it's done it might no longer feel like Geass.

I think he'll definitely bring something great to Code Geass, especially in terms of animation because he always seems to find the right people to work with. If the action scenes are anything like they were in Birdy 2, then we can count on a great and different Code Geass. Taniguchi is excellent as well though, so I can't say whether this will be better or worse. At least we can expect a more coherent plot (though it didn't really bother me in the original.) I'm excited for it.

He's a very talented director, his take on Code Geass will be better than anything Taniguchi could ever do with the series.
