In the Japanese live action movies of long running anime Detective Conan, he plays the role of one of the main characters, Kogorou Mouri. He made his directorial debut with Rockers (ロッカーズ), a 2003 film based on his years as vocalist for the punk rock band The Rockers (ザ・ロッカーズ).
