If you could imagine a soundtrack with a coolness of Electro, added with a shimmering warmth of organic sound, UQiYO would most certainly be the composers.

They channel the transparent air of Northern Europe and the moisture of Tokyo and playfully annexes the very human elements. Trying out each time with a new process of composing, and carefully choosing every element of sound, mix, and visual components, they put together extraordinary music and live performance. Also, with a totally new style of interface and community with their fans and supporters, their creative operation is picked up by the Japanese TV, Radio, and Internet medias including NHK, J-wave, InterFM, Natalie, and Cinra. Their experiment with ginny pig as themselves continues.

They have toured throughout Japan and sometimes out of Japan, and their performance can be seen at major music festivals including, Summer Sonic 2016, 2016 Arabaki Music Fest, 2015 Rising Sun Rock Fest, Shinkiba Sunset 2016.

Their latest album, out Jan. 2016, called "Black Box" features a Japan's celebrated singer, Chitose Hajime, and a designer/model/singer Kate Sakai.

UQiYO's uncommonness in music is well displayed by their live performance. Using NOT a single back track, they lively weave the electro and organic sound together, creating a distinct feel and groove which is very human, but gleaming with sound color. They use intricate 'real time sampling' technique to mix the sound of the venue into their music, adding depth to their one-and-only musical performance every time they perform.

They do not limit themselves by playing only in clubs, but places like movie theaters, libraries, temples, churches, share offices, and the list goes on. The importance is the energy of the space, which they inhale to create their music.

The way they distribute their music is also part of their creative field. They have tried out many new ways to put out new music, which have been well-regarded by many creators all over the world, developing into new collaborations. Especially, the design office TWOTONE of Japan have been helping them put out unpredictable products with very high quality from their early phase.

Their philosophy is that Popular music is becoming more 'public=free' and boring these days, and one of the way out should be to make music 'personal' and to let listeners have their own experiences that will stay in their memory.
