Made his debut in Garo in 1971 with a story called "Kan no Mushi" [Irascible], about an incorrigibly bad boy whose mother takes to a sadistic acupuncturist for a "cure."
Has been arrested for possession of illegal firearms (model guns that had been converted to the real thing) in 1994. It was said that he owns them as a hobby. He was convicted to three years of prison (Japan has very strict gun-control law enforcement). After his release, he published the work "In the Prison," which he drew during his imprisonment.
Currently lives in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
