Miki Yoshikawa made her pro manga debut in 2003 with Glory Days, a one-shot in Kodansha’s Magazine Special. After a stint as an assistant for Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), she published another one-shot, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, in Shonen Magazine Wonder in 2005. Yoshikawa’s best known work, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, started serialization in 2012 and has since sold more than 3 million copies.

In 2015, Yoshikawa attended Anime Expo as a guest.

At Anime Expo 2015, Yoshikawa said that she was inspired by the Dragon Ball manga, and would try to copy some of Toriyama's panels and manuscripts. She credits Hiro Mashima for "teaching her everything I know" while she was assisting on Fairy Tail.

Kakkou no Iinazuke is the best series Yoshikawa-sensei ever released... The art has become better, if not her best, than her other works. And also the stories is great, cannot wait to see its anime adaptation... Hope Nagi and gals could have a happy ending...

I really hope she would change her mind and revive Yamada-kun after her latest work (it's a really good new series)

TriFaith30 | Sep 23, 2020 9:46 PM
All her works are so good, but I think Yamada-kun and the 7 witches can still be revived. There are a lot of plot holes that can be fixed and I think it deserves a second season. The reason for Yamada's copy power wasn't clear enough. People are still waiting for continuations. P.s Just wanted to see more of Shiraishi

Thanks a lot for Yamada kun

after I watched episode 1 of Yamada-kun I wondered why a shounen was putting even the slightest effort into representing a young woman's actual struggles (which is to say, more than just being frustrated over her boob size or unintentionally flashing her panties).

in hindsight I probably should've figured out that the mangaka wasn't a dude lmao

Yamada-kun first arc was PERFECT.

And then declined because she refused to end the story right there.
