Masaki Okuda graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at Tama Art University in 2009, and from the Department of Animation, Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2011. He began making animated films while studying at Tama Art University. His film 'Kuchao' won the New Talent award at Fantoche and Best Short Film of Animation Schools at Animadrid, among other accolades. Okuda's works have been presented at many film festivals around the world.

After staying at Montreal, Canada as a trainee of ‘Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists', he has continued to work as a freelance animator and illustrator. His works include title animation for live-action films, animation and CG for TV programs, music videos, and cover illustration for books, CDs, and DVDs.
