Gateway series. Soul Society arc was one of the most hypest arcs, but sadly the series never carried that potential forward. I was still enjoying it despite the issues until the second half of the quincy arc, which eventually ended in a rushed mess.

Much better endgame than the anime.

Honestly one of the most unique series I read. I'm usually against series that tries to blend serious with craziness like this, but Gintama does it so well. Don't think I'll ever read anything like it.

I like to think of this part more as an expanded backstory that they fleshed out into several chapters / episodes. Thought they did a great job introducing and setting things up for the rest of the series, though it might be the weakest part if judging it on its own.

Joseph is one of my favorite and most creative protagonists from anything and the story is basically everything you can ask for in a fun adventure.

With Dio being the antagonist again, was hoping for a formula less... safe, but the battles and the introduction of Stands are still very good.

Basically takes what I wanted more out of Stardust Crusaders and makes it more hilarious in a slice of life setting, with more creative Stands and a very fun cast to add.

Need to reread once the newer translation is finished. Feels pretty compressed, kind of got carried away with some of the Stands, but it's still great JoJo fun. Really curious to see how the anime adapts this part.

4.25/5. Strong JoJo and villain where Araki finally nailed plot progression down, but he sort of forgot to explain some stuff. Might have been my favorite JJBA part if Dio's diary got fleshed out better. Either way, very fun part.

A part that gave the series a new breathe of fresh air, shifting into a different and darker tone for the series. Slower paced, tighter, and more character focused, the cast here is definitely Araki's deepest, many of them having compelling personalities, strong motives for what they do, and painful backstories. Johnny is my favorite JoJo and Valentine is the best villain among JJBA's already great selection. Stands operate differently and the new take on them is rather refreshing, although they still have the wackiness that the series is known for. It may start off slow for those used to the fast paced shonen action the series had before but it's easily my favorite JoJo part.

I prefer the manga's setting and how it handled certain characters better but either way Shinichi and Migi's story is still a great one.

Was actually my first manga. Probably nothing special now, but remembered it being a well-told tale.

Started out with a lot of potential but unfortunately Kishi didn't take any of it in a good direction. Wish Sarada got a better story without the silly Karin drama.

It's been so long since I read this... but I liked it a lot more than what I tried of Fairy Tail.

One of my first series. Really adored it, a shame it didn't really have an ending though. Haven't gotten around to reading the complete edition.

Used to read it at the library several years ago, definitely need to pick this up sometime.

The main conflict was kind of random, but I remembered being blown away by some of the plot twists in this series.
