Synopsis

Miko Hakaba, Sako Boseki, and Koko Furuido are elementary school students in a class comprising those who can use special powers. Informed by their new teacher that he is looking for the strongest student to become "Banchou," willing members of the class pair off and begin fighting each other.

Quickly, the three girls are the only ones left standing. Just as they are about to determine the ultimate victor, a youkai attacks the school. As it turns out, this special class was created to exterminate youkai that threaten humanity, and the Banchou is the one who will lead the fight against these enemies.

This manga takes you to a world that is fairly vague and that's important in this story. There is very little dialog and practically no exposition, so you have to figure out everything by yourself. That however is exactly the part that I like so much about this manga. All the characters are socially awkward but not at all like the tropes that you see a lot. The kids behave like kids and are not especially heroic (if I think I might die I will run away) and listen to the authority of elders. Those in their place think things through before acting, usually.
